growing up...

I am enjoying my little nephew because I know that he will be growing up very quickly. He is SO cute and VERY sweet... Is there a way to love another just as much? I think it is.

I have had a lot of time to think this week. There is so much wonder in a new baby being born. Above is my new little nephew, and to say that we are in love is the biggest understatement ever presented. We adore him; he is so perfect in every way. A lot went wrong with this pregnancy, and for him to be healthy is really unexpected. I am so reminded of the verse that states, "He knit me together in my mother's womb." Just to think about all the things that have to be put into place for a child to be born; how could you not believe in a Creator? It's incredible.

There are a lot of dark times in my family's lives due to just different circumstances. What a blessing the the Father would bless us with a child to love during this time. (actually 2... who could forget the little girl with curly hair?!) If you've been around, you know that my mom is battling cancer, and for her to have 2 grandchildren to love is more than anyone could ask.

When you've been through a lot of dark days in your life, you seem to not take blessings and "sunny" days for granted as much. I think I am learning what little things were sent from God -- to know that He loves and cares for me. I am learning but stubborn. Just had to post that picture; what a reminder of the perfection our Savior can create!

so, this is laura...

she and i go WAY back. we were actually captain and co-captain of the oak mountain middle school dance team. i know, you are impressed and probably a little intimidated. and, if you have ever seen me dance, you do not believe me. :)

she contacted me about 4 months ago about shooting her wedding to ryan, and i cannot wait! too bad they make such an unattractive couple, huh? ha! NOT...



here are a few more of my favorites. we really had a great time this morning shooting. they are both very fun-loving and obviously have fun together... i was promised to meet my husband at their wedding in april, so of course i'm excited!!

a good day...

Everyday is a good day, but today was especially good. I got to visit Mason, my little nephew, this morning in the hospital before he got to come home. And, he is a doll! I'm sure you will see more photos of him soon.

I also took some engagement photos of Bryan and Jennifer this evening. I have known Jennifer since high school, and we actually saw each other at a wedding earlier this year when she had JUST gotten engaged... They were kind enough to squeeze their session into my busy weekend, and even though the lighting was only perfect for about 45 minutes, we got some great shots. Here are a few for now:

More to come soon... As I finished edited the other Jennifer's wedding photos, I came across these that Kristen took. I just love the "role" that a photographer has at a wedding.

For example, I get to spend time talking with the bride -- something everyone wants to do at a wedding.

And, I get to play with kids... Look at her; she loves me!

And, I get to be the last one to wish all my brides and grooms "good-bye" on their special day. What a blessing.
