gavin & kim

well, to be perfectly honest, i had not much clue what i was walking into for this specific wedding... i had met with kim and with her mom back in april or something but really didn't have any idea what i was showing up to shoot. boy, was it greater than i could've imagined!!!

the place is called fountainview mansion in auburn, and it's fantastic. the boys wore linen pants and white shirts, and the girls had these really fun navy dresses. kim's dress was fantastic! it was nicole miller and so unique but so perfect. gavin & kim together are really fun to experience, too... they are lots of fun.

so, while i know that i still need to blog the album designs and get more photos put on facebook, etc., i have to post these 2 for now. i am trying to venture out and try new things -- one being using "props" (which i've always been against), and the other getting brides to pose and have fun. both were accomplished today, and i love the results. with the red chairs.

SO embarrassed!!!

this great couple are 2 people whom i love dearly. you wouldn't know that i love them, though, by the ridiculous amount of time it has taken me to get their album design complete. i feel like a real loser. their photos are so great and have such life that it wasn't hard to do; it was just the journey that made it difficult. now, though, it's all over... i'm going to be e-mailing them their photos very, very soon and cannot wait for them to see the design. for now, though, enjoy this.

hopefully soon, too, i am going to be uploading the recent album designs for view. stay tuned!!!

you've got to be kidding me...

i actually get paid to take photos like this... wow, this one turned out so great. i'm already seeing it really big in their album; whatcha think?

hahaha!!!

so, i am always "in the middle" of whatever is going on at a wedding. i did think, though, that this one was interesting. i was somehow caught up in about 4 of the bridesmaids, while they were getting the bride into her dress. i thought it was funny:

a little philosophy

Sometimes I make funny comments at weddings, and my most recent one was "just get together for this picture like you're not at a wedding." It sounds like it doesn't make sense, but let me explain. While there is nothing wrong with posing for fun wedding shots or taking the traditional poses at weddings, I really believe in portraying relationships in my photos. People don't usually stand with a bouquet of flowers in front of them; they hug and put their faces close together. Those are the photos I always love to get -- photos people would frame for their desks or side tables on a regular basis!

sneak peak...

do i not have the most beautiful brides possible? actually, the girl on the right is not actually a bride of mine but my poor guinea pig most of the time. still, though, are they not just gorgeous?
