Home Sweet Home

Well, here comes a MASSIVE blog posting of photos of my home. If you don't know already, I bought this home but have been doing some killer renovations on it. We are almost done and so happy! I hope you enjoy!!!
These cabinets are GREAT. My uncle, Rob, gave me the idea, and my grandmother and mom painted them. Awesome!

This is the a picture from the corner of the living room, looking at the sweet TV cabinet my Aunt gave me. We spend a lot of time here:

When I was looking for a house, one of my favorite things at the homes were the thicker trim, and we got that with the new windows. I love it.

I know it's hard to believe that I have so many pictures in my room. Ha! By the way, excuse the random arrangement; my room has a lot of accessories that still need to be placed.

This is where I spend A LOT of my time... my office:

This is my favorite thing about the inside of the house (I think). I wanted an accent wall and absolutely cannot wait until I can put the big mirror and sconces up soon.

These new appliances are fun, too.

My room again...

This is where all the magic happens. Ha!

Small closet, but that's okay. I don't have a lot of stuff or clothes, just a lot of pictures. To the left, my own personal Jason Wallis gallery!

I love to sit here.

This is the kitchen. Yummy. Doesn't it just make you want to eat?

And, the den... One girl that stayed here said she wanted to just take an afternoon nap, and I love that about this place and the new colors!

This is the new bathroom. I love it! Just like some of my camera angles aren't really "my style," this isn't either. But, I love it so much!

Isn't this just pretty? I feel like I'm in a hotel.

I love the rugs, the curtain, the color, and those candles. Thanks, Meagan, for letting me have them!!

new photo

my good friend and talented photographer, emily, found this photo she took of me at a wedding we shot together. i updated my "about me" section of my website, and it's perfect. thanks, emily!!! one more goal knocked off the list...

february update...

I'm not sure I can put into words the excitement I felt for this week. At the hospital, we have a stretch every 6 weeks where we get 6 days off, and it's SO wonderful. This week was no exception. I have desperately needed rest, relaxation, and just to enjoy life.

I'm in the process of buying a home and getting all that together, so there has definitely been some painting and some shopping on my week off... I can't, though, even begin to explain how great it is to almost have my house back in living order. I'll post picture when I return.

I have accomplished a few goals: The first being going on a date, which went really well. We'll just leave it at that. :) I also framed photos for my home and arranged them in my bedroom. I thought I made a goal to go visit Auburn this year, but I didn't make that one of them. I did, though, go and visit Auburn last week for an evening. It was a lot of fun!!

I have finished a complete album design that I am really enjoying. You can see it here in slideshow form:

The next on the agenda is possibly a free portrait session. I'm taking requests...

I think the above image may be my favorite from the day. Classic. Fun. Cute. Simple.

See the below posting for the preview and check back in the next 2 days or so for a slideshow. :)

Until then I am off to complete on of my "2009 goals." Can you guess which one?

grandma's farm

i LOVED this shoot. i actually just got back and am ALREADY posting photos; that must show you how much i enjoyed it.

i have a few random connections with margaret (bride) and am so excited to be shooting her wedding. john (groom) is so much fun to be around; their wedding is going to be nothing short of just awesome!! my new friend, jessica wright, has given me the privilege of shooting with me, so that should make it fun, too.

i love these photos because they are SO different. i have to admit this location was a challenge, but i love what i got out of it. this is a family farm and is also where john proposed. that's what makes it so special... i don't think i could take a bad photo of them if i tried, so it wasn't hard considering. the light, though, proved to force some interesting angles. i love what we got, though; here is a preview of 6:

NOT your typical "camille shot," but i love how attractive and classy it makes them look. (they really look this way!)

now HERE is a camille angle. love it!

little detail shot... i think it's fun

who doesn't LOVE good black-and-white picture in the woods?!

is she not just SO classically gorgeous? she is. i love the emotion you can feel in this one!

and, this shot is great because the "cotton house" is special to her. a good closing...

check back for more photos next week AND an all-new and fantastic album design!

DISNEY!!!

I went to Disney World with my sister, niece, cousin, and her little girl. It was Riley's 4th birthday, and she LOVED it. Enjoy:

greatest photographer maybe ever

Jason Wallis might be the greatest photographer ever. He just constantly astounds me, and I have had the privilege of working with him twice in the last year.

The outcome of all the photos really can't be verbalized... They are THAT good. I had been wanting to get some photos framed and make my room feel more "room-y," if you know what I mean. I love the way that the framing and collaging happened.

Thanks to Kelly for arranging them for me!

And, thanks to Jason for giving me photos that I'll cherish FOREVER. :)

a few of my favorite things...

I have a new parent's book I am offering, and I LOVE it. It is more like a coffee book table style book but really has some neat features. This 7x7 book is great because it allows parents, grandparents, anyone really to pick out their favorite photos. When it prints them, it prints them to a proofing size. It's great! Plus, it's much more affordable than a smaller version of the album... and allows parents to have the photos that THEY would want.

My 2nd favorite things on this post is random. :) I love my new kitchen table, my new tablecloths, and my new candles. A friend of mine at work sells the most incredible candles, and I really wanted something on my table. Perfect connection!!!
